Using public transportation is one of the most effective actions individuals can take to reduce their carbon footprint. In Connecticut, there are several public transportation options including express and local buses and three rail lines – Metro North, CTrail and Amtrak.
Public Transportation in Westport
Westport has a variety of public transportation options, including the Coastal Link bus that travels along the Route 1 corridor through Westport. Westport Transit District (through a contract with the Norwalk Transit District) also provides door-to-door transportation services for Westport senior and citizens with disabilities.
Wheels2U is an on-demand shuttle that serves all of Westport, including the Saugatuck and Greens Farms train stations. If either the beginning or end of your ride is at one of these stations, the Senior Center, the Farmers’ Market, or Jesup Green, Wheels2U will pick you up or drop you off anywhere in town. - Get in, sit back, and enjoy your five free trips in their new, air-conditioned SUV’s.
