On November 15 – 16, Sustainable Westport partnered with the Westport Woman’s Club and the Westport Center for Senior Activities to collect gently used durable medical equipment (DME) for Wheel it Forward, a non-profit organization that serves as a community library allowing people to borrow or donate items for free.

From wheelchairs to crutches and walkers to scooters, the donations came in steadily throughout the weekend resulting in over 120 items for Wheel it Forward. This effort not only provides community members access to necessary equipment but will also reduce waste by keeping the equipment out of the waste stream, and that’s something that we can all be proud of!
